The Job Index Report 2022 : Millennials are the most exposed to job scams

Millennials aged between 20-29 are the most exposed to job scams, around 56% of job seekers reported scams during their job hunt


India, 1 st August 2022: Hirect, the leading chat-based direct hiring platform recently rolled out the monthly job index report featuring trends and insights across various industries and cities on the hiring industry.


Notable Hiring trends:

The survey conducted by Hirect suggests that 43.5% of the survey respondents have claimed it takes around 1 week to hire from receipt of an application to an offer letter. 37.4% of companies reported that it takes them around 2 weeks (8 to 15 days) to make a new hire; whereas 10.7% of the companies are capable of filling a vacant role within 4 weeks (16-30 days), while 8.4% of the companies takes somewhere between 30-60 days to fill a position.

Other notable findings include that 56% of the people reported scams during their job hunt process. While HR industry is the most vulnerable industry, most job seekers face scams and fraudulent job offers. Millennials aged between 20-29 are the most exposed to job scams as revealed by the survey.


Furthermore, the survey includes the following points;

  • Tier 1 cities are predominantly hiring for both technical and non-technical positions. Specifically, the non-technical positions that are in demand in Mumbai include Sales & BD, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
  • Based on our internal findings, the most in-demand tech positions in Mumbai and Bangalore are Full Stack Engineer, Java Engineer, IT Technical Support, NET Developer, and PHP Developer.
  • In addition, the most in-demand positions in Gurugram are full stack engineer, PHP developer, Java engineer, IT Technical Support, Web Front End Engineer, etc.
