One lesson that you have learned from this pandemic?

 

In every adversity lies an opportunity is an age- old adage and has never been truer than the current COVID -19 pandemic. As an extension, it could also be said that greater the adversity, greater will be the opportunity.

 

COVID-19 pandemic is still here. How do you think the increasing uncertainty will impact the world of work?

 

The world of work has been largely affected by the pandemic. The social and economic disturbance threatens the long term livelihood and wellbeing of the entire human population.

 

Do you think the pandemic offered us an opportunity to create a better and more equitable workplace where everyone can unleash their full human potential?

 

Yes it has, if the right introspection has been done by the organization as well as the employees. Pandemic also made us realise that work from home which was a completely unacceptable idea is possible, productive, creative, practical as well as sustainable.

 

Most companies are heading toward a hybrid workplace. Do you think the hybrid mode of work is going to stay for long? Do you think your company culture will survive in the remote working setup?

 

All thanks to the pandemic, the world of work is changing. The ‘Hybrid Work Model’ is not a passing fad. This has forced organizations and their people to find new ways to come together, conspire and deliver seamlessly. Due to the partial lockdown imposed, we switched to a hybrid working model and its safe to say that it has worked wonders as our team has evolved over time. We at NIRVANAA believe in our employees and we give them complete freedom of work and right to speech. They were always free to put new ideas/ concepts forward. And this new way of working tends to include more freedom in work while granting more autonomy to employees to fit around work.

Tell us about the new HR initiatives taken at Nirvanaa Chocolates to combat Covid 19?

 

Work from home has made life easy. Flexible working hours enable improving inclusivity and it has made the working environment more relaxed as there is less commute stress. We strongly believe in and actively take part in WOMEN EMPOWERMENT, 80% of our workforce is female led. All under the age of 22 years, also the bread earners of their families.

The unattainable growth rate of the business is largely due to passion brought in by the female team. We give our team complete freedom to make mistakes as long as they learn and make themselves better. Pandemic has forced the work force to think out of the box as the only way to survive now is to get creative and bring in reformed ideas. COVID -19 has largely affected our work pattern, we are trying to fit into new traditions of working environment which is challenging yet turned out to be fruitful.

 

What role can technology play in the ongoing evolution and adoption of a hybrid work culture (especially for an FMCG brand like yours)

 

Technology plays a vital role in the ongoing adaptation to the new work system. For us it allows work flexibility. Flexible working provisions at NIRVANAA has improved employee well-being, retention, career progression of diverse talent and increased productivity.

 

Any suggestion for people venturing into the FMCG business

 

FMCG is the fourth largest sector in the Indian economy. As per the current situation it’s really important to upgrade yourself digitally. The most important backbone of the business is reliability, approachability and convenience of after -sale services.
