Industry HR leaders emphasize skills, adaptability, and real-world readiness as the key drivers of career success beyond academic CGPA

 

Bengaluru, April 18, 2026 – East Point Group of Institutions recently hosted an engaging panel session, Coffee with HR, at its campus in Bengaluru centered around the theme “HR Unfiltered”. The session offered students a candid, real-world perspective on what truly matters when stepping into the professional world.

Coffee with HR Unfiltered Industry Talks - Amazing WorkplacesThe panelists from the industry shared practical insights drawn from their extensive experience in hiring fresh talent. Representing leading organizations, the speakers provided a realistic view of recruitment processes, resume evaluation, and interview expectations. They said while your grades are important, it’s also crucial to show communication skills, problem-solving abilities and professional behavior. The panelists stressed that learning continuously and being adaptable are key to long-term career success in a job market that’s always changing.

Dr. G. S. Yogesh, Vice-Principal, East Point College of Engineering & Technology spoke about the institution’s ongoing efforts to bridge the industry–academia gap. He outlined initiatives such as curriculum enhancement, experiential learning, and stronger industry collaboration aimed at preparing students for real-world challenges.

 

There was a Q&A session where students asked the panelists questions about making career decisions, overcoming challenges and transitioning into the workforce. The discussion led to some insightful conversations and encouraged students to think differently about their careers.

The event witnessed participation from Heads of Institutions, Heads of Departments, and faculty members, reflecting East Point’s strong commitment to holistic student development and industry alignment.
