VP of Product Design for Hulu named Chief Design Officer; 15-Year Event Veteran joins as Chief Revenue Officer
Los Angeles, CA – 1 December, 2021 – BuzzCast, the premium virtual events platform, today announced that it has strengthened its executive team with two key industry hires. John S. Couch has joined BuzzCast as the Chief Design Officer and Jeff Kreinik has joined the company as its new Chief Revenue Officer.
BuzzCast recently announced a $4.35 million seed round that it secured as an established player in the high-end of the virtual and hybrid event landscape. The platform is unique in that it delivers a broadcast-quality experience, can scale to support hundreds of thousands of attendees with zero down-time, and supports complex tracks and formats with advanced networking features. BuzzCast clients include global brands and organizations, including Anthem, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The World Trade and Tourism Council, Just for Laughs, and Uber.
John S. Couch joins BuzzCast from Hulu, where he served as Vice President, Product Design and User Experience for over five years. John led the successful 2017 redesign of the Hulu Experience across mobile, living room and web, as well as the 2020 UX update. He has also held leadership roles at The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), CBS and eBay and continues to lead innovation and the design of the future of next generation storytelling in emerging platforms and formats.
“Virtual events are only just beginning to step into their potential,” said John S. Couch, chief design officer for BuzzCast. “Even the latest wave of virtual event platforms that emerged during the pandemic are rudimentary and rigid in their design. As we emerge from the pandemic, both B2B and B2C virtual events are on the verge of a renaissance that will integrate new transformative technologies like blockchain with premium, curated experiences to elevate the medium to previously unforeseen heights.”
Jeff Kreinik has more than fifteen years of experience in Live Production and Event Technology. Jeff was most recently Vice President of Business Development at Cognition, the interactive studio division of NVE Experience Agency in Los Angeles. Before that, Kreinik spent two years as VP of Sales and Client Relations at Patron Technology. There he built and managed a team focused on developing new business opportunities in Sports and with Brands and Brand Agencies for the company’s Fan Engagement/Experiential platform. Jeff has also held positions including Chief Revenue Officer at Connect&GO, Head of Festivals at Ticketfly, and Chief Operating Officer at HUKA Entertainment.
“In-person events have been permanently impacted by the pandemic, calling for a new breed of technology that can adapt to any challenge, whether it be scale, security or format,” said Jeff Kreinik, Chief Revenue Officer for BuzzCast. “Every event will have a hybrid component going forward, and BuzzCast offers an unparalleled level of format flexibility, security and service for top-tier clients ranging from elite global summits to world renowned festivals.”
“We are honored to have attracted such exceptional talent to our leadership team,” said Ryan Byrne, Co-Founder and CEO of BuzzCast. “Their joining speaks to the incredible market opportunity that lies in front of us and we are committed to continuing to deliver exceptional virtual event experiences for our clients. This is just the beginning.”
