Amazon Announces Pratidhi Scholarships for 1200 Children of Driver Associates
Amazon has opened applications for the 2024 Pratidhi Scholarship, a merit-based program aimed at supporting the education of 1200 children of the company’s driver associates. Eligible students, from class 3 to 12, can apply to receive financial assistance to cover tuition fees, school supplies, and other educational expenses.
The Pratidhi Scholarship has been running since 2022, growing significantly year by year. This year’s edition aims to continue Amazon’s efforts in empowering children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Successful candidates will receive INR 6,000 each, while students with disabilities will receive INR 10,000 to aid with therapeutic costs and educational needs.
Amazon’s commitment to education goes beyond just financial aid. About 20% of scholarship recipients will also have the opportunity to participate in a mentorship program designed to enhance their academic and personal growth. The scholarship disbursement will be managed in partnership with Buddy4Study India Foundation, which will ensure a rigorous and transparent selection process. Applications are open until September 15, 2024, and the final list of selected scholars will be announced by September 20.
“We are committed to empowering our communities by providing quality education for the children of our associates,” said Karuna Shanker Pande, Vice President – India Logistics at Amazon. “Through this scholarship, we aim to foster holistic growth and support these young minds in achieving their full potential.”
Eligibility and Application Process
The Pratidhi Scholarship is open to students from class 3 to 12 who demonstrate a combination of academic excellence, financial need, and leadership potential. Applicants must submit documents for verification, and the scholarships will be awarded after a thorough evaluation by the Buddy4Study India Foundation. Financial disbursements will be made directly to the children of eligible driver associates, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
This initiative highlights Amazon’s broader focus on empowering youth and promoting inclusivity, with special provisions for students with disabilities.
