Rick began his career in advertising after earning a business degree, but his true calling led him into the world of counselling and coaching. For over 25 years, he has served as the Lead Advisor for the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and most recently held the position of Head of Counselling at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.

Rick has co-edited and authored several books on mental wellness, including:
