Simon Sinek’s “Start with Why” demonstrates that the world’s most powerful leaders all think, behave, and communicate in the same way – and it’s the polar opposite of what everyone else does.
The Golden Circle is a concept introduced by Sinek, which looks at the Why as the source of How then. People are attracted to why companies proceed with a specific product, develop a particular brand, or propose a certain job. Whereas modern management appears to focus more on the what, the reality is that people are attracted to why companies proceed with a certain product, develop a specific brand, or propose a particular job.
What’s excellent about Sinek’s book is that it connects the complete value chain of consumer, worker, and decision-maker relationships. The purpose thus becomes a link for everything, assuming it is viewed as genuine.
Sinek’s insights, despite their simplicity, become foundational for purpose-driven businesses. Many of the examples he gives in his book already resonate with us. However, we don’t have to look at large companies to see how this purpose-driven impacts endeavor. Successful artists, for example, all share a sense of belonging to their inner why on an individual level.
Sinek assembles a clear perspective of what efforts are required to inspire and become a leader based on a series of real-life circumstances. This book is for those who need the inspiration to succeed, become a leader, and get motivated.
If you haven’t already, I strongly advise you to read this book. It’ll undoubtedly give you a new perspective on how you went about accomplishing things, as well as a slew of new ideas.
