New Delhi, 26th June 2024: In a significant step towards fostering a more inclusive work environment, Incuspaze, a leading provider of managed office spaces, has launched the “INCU-Ease Day” policy. This initiative allows female employees the flexibility to work from home for one day each month during their menstrual cycle, aiming to create a supportive workplace culture.

According to a report by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), 69% of women believe their menstrual cycle negatively impacts their work. The survey, which included over 2,000 women aged 18-60, revealed that 53% of women had missed work due to menstrual symptoms, which include abdominal cramps, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating.

The INCU-Ease Day policy reflects Incuspaze’s commitment to gender equality and employee well-being. By offering this option, the company acknowledges the challenges some women face during their menstrual cycle and provides a supportive solution. This approach aims to break the longstanding taboo around menstruation in India, recognizing that while some women may not need leave, others experience severe discomfort that affects their productivity.

Commenting on the announcement of the new policy, Mr. Sanjay Choudhary, Founder and CEO, Incuspaze said, “This policy safeguards our employees’ well-being and creates an environment that acknowledges the unique needs of each individual. A key feature of our policy is the automatic approval by managers, ensuring flexibility for employees to take the necessary time off without extensive administrative processes.”

“We believe that recognizing and supporting the unique needs of our female employees is crucial for their well-being and productivity. The INCU-Ease Day policy is a step towards creating a more inclusive and empathetic workplace,” said Honey Sharma, AVP, Human Resources, Incuspaze. “We are committed to fostering an environment where all our employees feel valued and supported.”

Incuspaze believes that high female employee participation is vital for any economy. To enhance this participation, it is essential to prioritize the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of women employees. Offering menstrual leave as a standard benefit can contribute to creating a more equitable and inclusive workplace.
